Farm Sanctuary is calling for the passage of The Downed Animal and Food Safety Protection Act (HR 661/ S 394) which would ban the slaughter of ALL downed animals, including pigs, sheep and other livestock.

I’ll never understand how people can do such things to animals, or allow these things to happen. No living creature deserves to live such a painful and lifeless existence. I will do whatever I can to help. I have stopped buying factory meat and plan to only eat locally, healthfully raised free range, happy animals until the day I die. Support your local humane growers and organizations like this to support positive change in our food industry!

We need to ask the questions that matter. For starters, are these downed animals still delicious? For some meat, that moment of terror and suffering before they die releases all the most tasty hormones. But you never want to taste the decomposition process.

You’re way over the top on this. Humane care for something that’s going to be killed anyways makes perfect sense. And all I want out of my meat is something that’s not contaminated so I don’t get sick. It’s a win win situation. Dumb ass hippie

How can people eat meat? Sure I don’t want to see downers suffer, but I don’t want to see any animals suffer, and KILLING them makes them suffer and it is barbaric. Killing animals is murder, and “farming” them for slaughter is sick.
Humane care for an animal that you will kill anyway? All you want is your precious meat non contaminated so you can go on killing for profit. You should all be ashamed, trying to make eating meat acceptable by trying to make ppl think it can be “humane” murder.

What can I do to heap besides donating? Any one know the adresses of these hell houses, I would love to write a letter expressing my anger. If anyone could help with that it would be great. I will also contacting some locan governments. Now is the time for action.

Dear people: If you think this earth is hell think again. while you wait on line INNOUT or any burger places the poor animals wait on line abused tortured and then we eat that suffered meat and its karma stays with us. Please do not buy meat and boy cout meat factories and abuse at farms.

One more reason I practice a strict vegan lifestyle. I can’t understand the lack of concern by the majority of our peoples. And I certainly can’t imagine any sort of debate about these very sad, inhumane acts. I will continue to speak to all that will listen.

It is with tears and a broken heart that I cry for these beautiful and innocent animals. No animal should endure such inhumane cruelty, suffering, and death! It is with hope that I will do what I can to make sure this stops! Thank you for all the wonderful work you do for these precious animals! I will be donating. I can not sit by and watch things like this wihout taking some kind of action. To everyone who loves animals, let’s help give these animals the dignity, respect & love they deserve!

The Democrat Party has tried & tried again, to pass bills HR.661 & S.394 to ban the abuse, torture & slaughter of ALL sick, injured, dying animals…(Cows, Pigs, Sheep) from entering our Food Chain.
The Republican Party has always opposed the bill(s) while siding with the interests of Big Corp Agri-Businesses. Slaughtering a downer represents a PROFIT for the Meat Packing Industry.
This is INHUMANE and IMMORAL. Please vote Democrat in Nov 2008 and kick the Republicans out of Congress.
